I agree that any religion or political or policy position that restricts freedom of thought or promotes violence is contrary to the rule of love on which natural law is founded. Radical Islam does both. People need to learn that. And they can easily do so by seeing how they treat their women, not to mention, each other.
Hopefully, our Prime Minister, Premiers and people in authority will stand up as Premier Legault did to protect our values, our beliefs, our traditions, our respect of each other, and so on. And by the way, Merry Christmas and NOT Happy Holidays.
No religion should be part of the educational system, I totally agree; however, I have lived for more than several years in Islamic countries/cities and have never, ever seen a hint of “ One element of this has been the practice of public prayer on city streets, blocking pedestrian and vehicular traffic at all hours of the day and night.”
I generally agree with you. In Ontario we are afflicted with taxpayer-supported religious schools, usually Catholic but there are apparently a few others. We are told that removing this support would require a Constitutional amendment, but since this involves only one province an amandment would be simple, if anyone had the political courage to do it. In Ottawa we have four separately run school systems,, divided by language and religion.
Indeed, it shouldn't be complicated. simply close the schools that break the rules and fire the teachers and administrators who pervert the education system.
Perhaps less radical Islamism than a natural tendency of newcomers, mainly Muslims etc to rally around their religion even in public and educational spaces. . Hopefully any malign objectionable behaviour like praying in public spaces can be controlled curtailed according to Canadian Quebec values policies laws without damaging freedom of religion as provided forunder the Charter.
It doesn't seem likely, given the current situation. But as long as prayer is limited to outside the schools and not in the streets but only to temples designed for that purpose, there should not be any problems. However, current demonstrations of prayer in public venues are unacceptable in a secular society and go against our basic values and norms.

Indeed. And we must eliminate its influence on our educational system.

absolutamente.

Unfortunately it is becoming the norm in our cities since October 7th.

Unfortunately the offending teachers are Muslim, a large and growing voting group. They now outnumber our Jewish fellow-citizens.
