King Charles III is just following instructions from the Government of the UK. HRM may have forgotten His role in the Commonwealth?

Thank you Eduardo for picking up on this matter.

Gran abrazo!

I don't see how King Charles or Starmer could say or do anything relevant to the situation. What authority or weight do they have? I'm sure they have nothing but disdain for Trump, but they're playing his game of soothing the narcissist. What more can they do? And while we're on that topic, in what way does the British monarchy benefit from Canada anyhow? As in, do they care what Canadians think of them? Not challenging, just honestly wondering.

The Canadian monarchy will not last. Charles has abdicated any support he may have had and will lose this realm, possibly followed by Australia, New Zealand, and othe states that currently have him as head of state. The Commonwealth is perjaps on its last breaths, and the global order ascwe knew it is dead in the water. What comes is unknown, but not likely good for anyone other than Russia and China. God help us all!

Why would the disintegration of the Commonwealth matter at all, particularly for what lies ahead? I doubt the monarchy really cares, and might actually be happier to be rid of this whole old institution. The young royals must feel the weight of upholding the tradition as nothing but a yoke, and quite probably an embarrassment.
