Mild-mannered Canadians, at least that's how they are portrayed, are pretty harsh with their outgoing PMs. The "arrogant" Trudeau father remained a polarizing figure way past his time in office. Mulroney left as a "crook" and was a pariah, even in his own party, for years. Chrétien managed to escape resentment because he methodically cultivated anti- charisma. Martin, yes, he was PM, turned out to be a disappointment. The unloved Harper generated a pretty high level of antipathy that still hangs on his presumed heir. Justin Trudeau rode on the coat tails of charisma, the pubescent variety, until it slipped away, fickle as it is. What will "history" say of him? It seems to have started speaking pretty quickly.
Your article has a great deal of truth. One can agree with your assessment of Justin Trudeau’s egocentrism and arrogance. His personality has caused a great deal of damage to our country. His legacy unfortunately will not be his achievements. His egocentrism will erase accomplishments his government can rightly claim, reducing poverty, strengthening the middle class, progressive measures to mitigate climate change, reconciliation with our First Nations.
Whoever will be elected as leader of the LPC , will have demonstrate leadership qualities that will be able to attract voters who normally vote liberal and those who lean to the red Tory crowd. If that scenario becomes a reality Poileievre may be defeated.
Indeed, as they say, he cut off his nose to spite his face! Or, as they say in Venezuela, lo que hizo con las manos lo desbarato con los pies. I hope you are right, but fear that there is no time for the Liberals this cycle.
Enhorabuena. Y no ceses en ese intento.

Indeed. A shame what he did well he undid with his ego!
This is what a narcissist does. It is sad & more than that, frightening.
And we will see more of it as of the 20th in DC!
Sad but true 😢

Bravo Eduardo. It’s one of your best pieces.
Many thanks Mickey. A shame I even had to write it, but there we are! Canada is in deep trouble with no real leader in sight! Happy new Year!
